I’ve spent 17 years working in the wine trade, starting in the 90s as a shelf stacker in Oddbins, then running successful wine merchants in Kensington and the Cotswolds. I’m thrilled to be running Bristol’s oldest and best wine shop, ensuring it’s full to the brim with exciting wines for any budget.
Favourite wine region: I have always loved Burgundy and whenever I can I love to dip into Averys amazing collection of Premier and Grand Crus.
Wines I love: With Burgundy being a little out of my budget for every day drinking, I always turn to the Rhone. I’m a particular fan of Ferraton Père et Fils Crozes-Hermitage Calendes - surprisingly good with a simple roast chicken and Dauphinoise potatoes.
Favourite wine estate: Château Lynch Bages
Top wine tip: Don’t be scared to decant your wines and especially good white Burgundy. It makes all the difference.
